Talent Show

Since my baby is such a reclusive diva, I caught some of her "talents" on camera and though I would share!

The Diva

After leaving work last night, I was talking with the girls that are Savannah's teachers and they made a funny comment that got me thinking about her personality. She said that she is very opinionated and she has this way about her that is very grown up, almost diva like. Which I agree, I just never really looked at it like that. She is down right sassy, she knows what she wants and who she wants to be around and she is pretty set in her ways. Yesterday, they said she was sharing her prized possession - her blankie - with a little boy her age, and both seemed happy holding the blankie together, however the moment he started to put it in his mouth Savannah ripped it out and gave him a dirty look. I know this is true because most people have seen this look - the one when she looks you up and down and seems to be saying "oh no you did not!" She is just such a funny little person with such a big personality already. I know that anyone who know my wonderful husband understands where she gets this personality - from him. With both of them you have to give them space and wait for them to come to you, don't get in there space. They are also extremely picky about who they allow into their world, they need to be in control of the situation and think it is their idea. It is funny because with both of them people are kind of puzzled about their personalities and I think many wonder if they are ever happy, but it is amazing when you get them alone or at home in their element with no outside pressure - they are so amazing and funny and great to be around. I get a little sad that other people cannot see how great Savannah and her Daddy are but the most important part to me is that I know and that we are such a happy family and I am so lucky for both of them!!

Howdy!

Savannah's 1st Birthday Party was an overall success, we had a few issues - burning her finger on the candle - but I think she had a good time. She is such a shy girl she was a little overwhelmed by all the attention and people, and without a good afternoon nap she had a few meltdowns, but she seemed to enjoy the gifts and cake. Here are a few pics...

Savannah is 1 Today!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY SAVANNAH GRACE!!

Happy Birthday my beautiful little baby!!
I cannot believe a year ago today I was in the hospital in extreme pain getting ready for my life to completely change!! It is amazing how fast time flies. I am so proud of her, she is getting so big and learning more and more each day! Even though she is growing up I still look at her as my little baby. It is such an amazing blessing and you can never describe how much joy a child brings to your life. You can never fully prepare for the way your life will change and how much love you have for a little ball of energy and trouble. I look at her every day when she is playing with her Daddy and I am so overcome with love and happiness I just have to smile and thank God for all my blessings. Stephen is such a good Daddy and he is really getting into it more now that I have been working, I am so lucky to have him in my life!! Well, I will post soon and share party pics!!

Chaos..

WALKING!!!

I feel like my life is in a perpetual state of chaos! I get one thing accomplished and the next moment something comes along and changes it. From the little things, like putting away the toys and 2 seconds later they are all over and everything is a mess, to the big things, like working and getting into a rhythm and then feeling like I want to scream and quit!! I am trying to find the delicate line that is balance.
Savannah went to school for the first time on Thurs and Fri. On the positive side - she did not scream all day like I had envisioned, she actually did really well!!! On the negative side she came home sick and upon visiting the doctor had RSV!! What a first cold! She is feeling much better and is on the mend!! We will be all better for our party on Sat! Needless to say she is not going back to school this week!
Then there is the bird that somehow has made its way into the vent fan in the laundry room and is now stuck! We have no idea how this bird got in and no idea how to get it out! I came home tonight (alone and in the dark) and the bird or a friend of the bird was flying around my laundry room!! Great, what do I do? Stephen is gone and so I prop open the door and the bird disappears. I then go into to check and the stupid bird is still in the vent!! I don't know what to do but the sound of this bird in the vent is creeping me out and driving me crazy!!
Finally, my baby's first birthday is approaching! Bittersweet event. I just cannot believe it has been a year and my baby is not my baby anymore!! All at once she doesn't need me anymore and it is breaking my heart. First she weaned, then started to walk, and goes to school no problem, what next?? My heart can't take much more, so she had better slow down with this growing up stuff!!

One step at a time

Well I am taking this working thing one day at a time, because I have to. I was a mess last week for various reasons, but mainly because I did not get to see my baby from Tue night when I put her down until Thurs evening because she was always sleeping when I left for work and when I finally made it home. It broke my heart and I wanted to quit right then and there. But, I am trying to get into the routine of working again and trying to enjoy having me time (sort of.)

Savannah's Grace is going to be one soon!! I can't believe it, I am in shock that it has already been a year! She is so cute. She recently got her first tooth and is trying to walk, she is getting better everyday. She also love to find her tongue, nose, and ears, and loves it when you laugh when she gets it right. She also loves to show you how old she is going to be and loves to clap. She was so funny the other night, I started to sing "If your happy and you know it" and she started to clap along with the song. It just amazes me how much they know and how sometimes it is the funniest stuff they choose to show you.
Her birthday list is not very long due to the fact Christmas was not too long ago.
She needs plain white onsies size 9 months
Spring and summer clothes size 9-12 months
Shoe size is 2-3 (3 is probably better)
Maybe another blanket similar to her blanket now because we love it to death
(it is from babies r us)
Loves Baby Einstein movies
Developmentally Appropriate toys (puzzles, books, etc..)
We also would like to take her to a music class and to get her pics taken so that is always an option too.

Were Back...

Well, we are back from Mexico, again! We had a wonderful time, and in the end everything worked out! Savannah had a good time playing in the sand and water, and she also enjoyed all the other kids!! However, on the day of the wedding she decided to cut her 1st tooth! So we were not in the best mood that day. Otherwise we had a great time. David and Jodi's wedding was beautiful and the scenery was wonderful. The ceremony was really special and went well and as soon as they were finished it started to rain and a minute later it was a down pour! However, I think that it is supposed to be good luck to have rain on your wedding day so... good for them!! There is a slideshow of the pics on the blog and the link to the pics is
