Almost Halloween!
Mommy's Kitty
It is almost Halloween, and we finally carved our pumpkins. I think that is one of my favorite things to do in regards to Halloween. Carving pumpkins is something Stephen and I have been doing together for a long time, however I always forget how time consuming it is! Savannah Grace watched the pumpkin carving and modeled with the finished product. I am excited for tomorrow because it is Halloween, but it's not like Savannah has any idea why Mommy is dressing her up and parading her around, oh well that is the fun part about being a parent, right?

Savannah is 8 Months old and...
Crawling!!! Stephen came home last night from visiting family in Texas, and all of a sudden we put her on the floor and she started forward motion! It was so cute how hard she was trying and much effort it took, but she did it. Her motivation was crawling to get to the dogs, not mommy or daddy, but the dogs! On the same day she turned 8 months she decided to crawl!

Will she ever crawl???
Well that is my question. Little Miss Savannah Grace has been up on all fours, rocking back and forth, for about a month now and we still have no forward motion. She knows how to maneuver, by rolling and turning herself around, she also can go in reverse like a pro, but no forward movement! I don't know if it is blessing in disguise because once she can crawl there is no turning back, but you want your child to reach each milestone and surpass them, right?? I know she will crawl in her own time, just like everything else. My other problem is the sleeping thing. She was a champ at sleeping through the night and taking naps, now all of a sudden we are awake at all hours of the night and refusing to nap!! What happened to my angel?!? So if anyone has a good suggestion about establishing a good sleep routine, I'm all ears. I have read a few books and they all just say leave them and let them scream. I just don't think I am strong enough to do it.

Leaves...
Today Savannah and I visited a park with leaves covering the ground! Now you might not think this is strange, given that it is fall in Colorado. However, where we live there are no trees big enough to produce any leaves to play in. So we took this opportunity to experience fall at its finest. I know, I know, I am obsessed with taking pictures of her!

My new obsession..
I wanted to let everyone in on my new obsession, the Wii fit! Stephen bought this for me a few days ago and I stepped on it and found out i am overweight by 2 lbs for my height, so sad, but nothing I did not know already. I have been struggling to lose the weight after having Savannah - 4 months on bed rest kills your figure! However, Savannah is 7 1/2 months now so I really have no excuse now. So... I have been using this wii fit and after getting over feeling stupid playing a video game to exercise, I started to love it. It has a trainer that helps you do the exercises correctly, (p.s. - they are much harder that way) and they have aerobic exercises like hula hoop, and boxing, and you really work. So I have become obsessed, I could not stop today, I just wanted to keep trying the new activities. I also really love the features that track your progress and how often and how long you exercise, which for me means no cheating. You can't cheat and say you did more than you actually did, there is a big calender that tells you when you got on and did some activity. I hope this helps me get back to where I want to be, and for anyone who wants to try something new to exercise, I would recommend this!

Getting ready for Halloween and Fall
I have always enjoyed fall and all the things that come along with it. I love football, halloween, cooler weather, and the beautiful colors. This year I am enjoying spending fall with Stephen and Savannah, and I am really excited for Savannah to dress up for Halloween! I know it is silly but I think it sounds like a lot of fun, so much fun in fact we had a practice run the other day! She is going to be a giraffe of course, because mommy loves them and is pushing Savannah to love them too!

A Day at the park...
Yesterday, Savannah and I went to the park to play and swing as usual. Of course I brought the camera and I was snapping away when I started to realize how much we take for granted everyday. I was in amazement how new and wonderful everything seemed to my baby, and how much I take it for granted everyday. The wind was blowing, and she just giggled, and I stopped and thought how wonderful it is that I get to enjoy this beautiful day full of sun, wind, grass, and trees. How great it is that Savannah and I can see flowers full of butterflies and how lucky I am to be able to enjoy her first experiences. I think that all too often we get caught up in the everyday tasks and worries, and we forget all that we have, and all that we should be thankful for. As the old saying goes you can't take it with you when you go. So what you drive or how much you have does not really matter at all. I think that we should all take a minute and just be thankful for all the wonderful people and things that we have ever had in our lives.

Football Season
Hello All,
I am posting today because it is football season and we have to say Go Longhorns for Daddy!! Today Stephen and Uncle Kelley are going to the CU vs Texas game in Boulder. I just hope that they don't get in to any fights rooting for the Longhorns! Savannah (my little doll) and I had a little photo shoot this morning to show our team spirit! I can not wait until I can afford a better camera. I love to take pictures but they never come out very good, maybe its me and not the camera, but I like to think if I had a better camera my pictures would be better, but who knows! Anyway, we thought we would share these pictures! HOOK EM HORNS!!

Las Vegas...
Hey everyone! Hope all is well!
We just returned from Las Vegas, Stephen and David had a golf tournament there and Jodi and I (and the girls) tagged along. We had a good time and it was nice to get away, however, Las Vegas is not a place to take your kids. It may seem like there are things to do with them but it is all a mirage. We took the girls to do a few things like the children's museum and the zoo, bit they were no where near the places here in Colorado. Then we tried to take them to the strip (on a Friday night - not a good idea!) to see the lights and the fountains etc.. there we soooo many people and it was chaos! It was fun and I am glad we went, but it was very stressful and people are so rude about having kids there! All in all if I ever go back I will have to say Savannah will probably being staying with Grandma!
