Trouble!!

Hello all! Well we are home form Mexico and recovering from our wonderful vacation. We had a great time and it was really hard to come home to such a cold place!
We went to Puerto Vallarta with my family and we stayed at this little house on the beach. It was so beautiful there, much different than the other times I have visited Mexico. I would say the best way to describe it is "authentic." It seems very run down and dirty at first, but the people are really wonderful and the food was overall very good. The landscape was also very different, mountains and jungle, along with the beach. We went shopping a few days, horseback riding on the beach, para sailing, deep sea fishing, whale watching, it was all so much fun. Stephen even ate some of his catch of Mahi Mahi, and he NEVER eats anything form the sea! I really had a blast and would love to back sometime. But, we are glad to be back in time for Christmas, it was very hard to get in to the spirit there. However, the locals tried very hard to make it seem like Christmas, they all decorate their cars like Rudolph! We have so many pics I don't know if I can fit them all on Picasa, but I will try, they are really cool!

Savannah's new friend

There is a new addition to the extended family...

Little Bull!

He does not have a name yet, but little bull is the newest addition to the family! My parents have a new Scottish Highlands Bull. This type of cow is supposed to be friendly if you expose them to people and brush him etc.. He is about Savannah's age and is so cute! Savannah just loved him when she first saw him, she squealed with delight. Savannah also tried her latest adventure sport, bull riding! This just confirms for me that she loves animals so much!! When we walked up to him yesterday, he let out a loud moo and she just looked at him not the least bit afraid! Sorry no pictures, I just have a short video
(Grandma could not work the camera! Ha Ha!)

We Wish You A Merry Christmas...

Savannah Waving

More waving...

Stocking Hung with Care!!!! Ha, Ha!

Mommy made this Longhorn Tree for Daddy!

Our Christmas Tree

Well it is that time of year, Christmas Time! The joy and agony of the Holidays are upon us again. Don't get me wrong I love Christmas time and all that goes with it, however, the elevated stress level is not my favorite part. I know everything will get done, it is just a matter of if it will be done up to my standards. We are already nixing the outdoor lights, which I am totally bummed about, however I understand. There is just not enough time and good weather to accomplish this task, which stinks because that is one of my favorite things about Christmas. I guess I will just have to drive around and look at everyone else's lights! We already have our tree up and decorated and the presents wrapped. No, I am not trying to be an over achiever, we are leaving and I don't have much time left.  Over all I am really looking forward to Christmas this year, and watching the joy in Savannah's eyes when she plays with ... all of the boxes and wrapping paper, you know that will be her favorite part! Oh, by the way Savannah is becoming an expert at waving. She will wave for Daddy any time, and for Mommy if she feels like it. I will have to get a video of her and Stephen waving, it is so cute!

Thanksgiving

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving. We started our day spending time with Stephen's brother and his family, David, Jodi, Jaiden, and Jodi's parents. It was really nice to spend time with all of them, and Savannah enjoys playing with Jaiden (and eating whatever she is eating!) Then we went to my family's for the afternoon and enjoyed a wonderful meal! On Friday we went shopping for a while and then we went to Nicci and Matt's house for a Thanksgiving with them. All of our Thanksgiving celebrations were wonderful and we are really very lucky and so thankful for all of our great family and friends.

Stair Climber

Today I was just doing things around the house as usual when I could not find Savannah Grace. I looked in the usual places and even behind the couch our new hiding/playing spot. She was not there and she was being really quiet, which means she is doing something she should not be doing and it is requiring all of her attention and effort.  So, I looked to the stairs, which she likes to use to pull up on because they are her size, and what do I see, Savannah 5 Stairs up and climbing!  How do I respond to this?? She taught herself a challenging new skill, but it is dangerous without Mommy or  Daddy! My Crazy Baby!

High Five for Mommy!

I am blogging today because I am so proud of myself! As I told you in a previous blog I have been using my Wii Fit, which I love! I got on today and I have lost 10 lbs!! Yea for me! I am usually not one to talk about my weight, but I have been working on losing these last baby pounds and it is really HARD!! I still have 10 to go but it is a start!

"I like to move it, move it!"

Savannah is crawling and pulling up and going crazy! She is ALWAYS moving, even in her sleep she wiggles around. Her feet are also always twirling and moving, I think she has her Daddy's restless leg syndrome. She is so crazy, I'm even having dreams that she is crawling up the walls! Last night she had dinner and then Daddy got home and after that she was so excited she was going crazy, I would have said she was ADHD if I didn't know better. All joking aside, it is very cool to watch her turn in to this mobile little person.

Amazing..

Isn't it amazing how life progresses. I was sitting at the house taking pictures of Savannah (as usual) and I just was in shock how she has gone from a tiny grouping of cells to this mini person who can move and think and make decisions. I just had an moment when the miracle of life was apparent to me. I have known how grand this transition is for many years, but to actually put it in to perspective is just amazing! I just had to take a step back and say wow, how precious life is and how wonderful it is that we can experience it.
Have a great day and remember how amazing it is that we are here!

Naughty or Nice???

Naughty

or

Nice??

Hmmm, has little Miss Savannah Grace been naughty or nice this year? Only Santa knows for sure but Mommy has a pretty good idea as well. I know it is really early, however, I want to get an early start so I can finish early as well, so send me your wish lists please! (acashanking@creativepapercrafts.org) I wanted to post a little list for Savannah Grace just in case - no pressure to get her any thing she wont know the difference anyway.

Cause and Effect toys, I think she might like little people play sets - house farm etc..., books, clothes size 6-9 months for winter and 12 months for spring etc.., we are also saving for a car seat! That's about it!

We are hoping for a low key Christmas this year since we all have so much going on, however, I still want to celebrate since it is Savannah's 1st Christmas! I can't believe that I am posting about Christmas Nov. 5, but time flies when your having fun!!

Halloween Fun!

Yesterday was Halloween, and we had a great time! We visited Daddy at work and helped him bob for apples and Aunt Nicci put me in the bucket (without water of course!) Then we went over to Cousin Jaiden's house to Trick or Treat! She was a lion and Savannah was a giraffe, so we had our own little Safari going on. It was pretty cute. Jaiden was so kind and shared her sucker with Savannah, she of course loved it, and wanted one of her own. Trick or Treating went well and by the end of the night Savannah was pulling 2 or 3 pieces of candy out of the bucket and not letting go! All in all in went well and we had a good time.

The Proof...

Here is a video of Miss Savannah Grace crawling!!!

Almost Halloween!

Spooky Baby!!

Daddy's Pumpkin - Haunted House with Longhorns

Mommy's Kitty

It is almost Halloween, and we finally carved our pumpkins. I think that is one of my favorite things to do in regards to Halloween. Carving pumpkins is something Stephen and I have been doing together for a long time, however I always forget how time consuming it is! Savannah Grace watched the pumpkin carving and modeled with the finished product. I am excited for tomorrow because it is Halloween, but it's not like Savannah has any idea why Mommy is dressing her up and parading her around, oh well that is the fun part about being a parent, right?

Savannah is 8 Months old and...

Crawling!!! Stephen came home last night from visiting family in Texas, and all of a sudden we put her on the floor and she started forward motion! It was so cute how hard she was trying and much effort it took, but she did it. Her motivation was crawling to get to the dogs, not mommy or daddy, but the dogs! On the same day she turned 8 months she decided to crawl!

Will she ever crawl???

Well that is my question. Little Miss Savannah Grace has been up on all fours, rocking back and forth, for about a month now and we still have no forward motion. She knows how to maneuver, by rolling and turning herself around, she also can go in reverse like a pro, but no forward movement! I don't know if it is blessing in disguise because once she can crawl there is no turning back, but you want your child to reach each milestone and surpass them, right?? I know she will crawl in her own time, just like everything else. My other problem is the sleeping thing. She was a champ at sleeping through the night and taking naps, now all of a sudden we are awake at all hours of the night and refusing to nap!! What happened to my angel?!? So if anyone has a good suggestion about establishing a good sleep routine, I'm all ears. I have read a few books and they all just say leave them and let them scream. I just don't think I am strong enough to do it.
