Entering the workforce...

Greetings all!!
Well today is Monday Jan 26th and I think that in the next few days/weeks I will be going back to work. It is very bittersweet and I have good days and bad days. I am going to be taking a position teaching a Kindergarten class in a private school, it is the job I have always wanted, and the one I intended to get since starting college. I am really excited because I will work with a really experienced teacher in the am and go it alone in the pm, so I can learn from her and also utilize my own ideas. I think that it will be really great. I am sad too, I really love being at home with my baby and I am so afraid I will miss those all important moments, but I think that we both need to get out more. Savannah will go with me and stay in the toddler class 2 or 3 days a week and get to play with some other kiddos, and the other days she will stay with Grandma Kim. I am tearing up right now just talking about it but it needs to be done for the good of the household and maybe we will have a little extra cash for some fun stuff!! Wish me Luck, and if anyone has any reassuring words to a mommy about to leave her baby - I'd appreciate them!!!

Savannah Dancing and "One"

Savannah is really starting to dance! Notice how halfway through she looks to see if anyone is watching. Also, she is going to be one soon so we are practicing!

Catching up

Hey everyone! It has been awhile since I have posed anything but it has been crazy for the past month! I will go back to Christmas and reflect...
Christmas Eve was great, we spent time with Stephen's family and had a great time opening presents and hanging out. It was such a different experience this year. Having Savannah really does change everything. I used to look forward to my gifts etc.. and this year after it was all said and done I really had no idea what I got because I was so excited for her and how she liked everything! On Christmas we wet over to my parents and spent time with them. We leisurely opened presents and snacked, it was really fun. I do have to say I received a new cutting machine for scrapbooking and card making and I am so excited about it, so hopefully I will be able to make even better cards etc..
The day after Christmas my grandparents came in from Missouri and we spent some time with them. However, we did not get to spend as much time as we would have liked to because a terrible flu had been going around and my grandmother fell victim to it. I am very glad that they came out and got to spend a little time with us and Savannah!
Last week we drove down to Texas to help out with Stephen's Uncle, Kendall. He was in the hospital for awhile with and infection and needed knee surgery, and once he was able to come home he needed help recovering. We stayed for a week and he made wonderful progress while we were there, so we are hoping that he will continue to make great progress.( A little prayer always helps!) Well, I suppose that just about covers it. We also took Savannah to the stock show, and she loved the animals, but was a little tired, so we might try again when she is rested!

Trouble!!

Hello all! Well we are home form Mexico and recovering from our wonderful vacation. We had a great time and it was really hard to come home to such a cold place!
We went to Puerto Vallarta with my family and we stayed at this little house on the beach. It was so beautiful there, much different than the other times I have visited Mexico. I would say the best way to describe it is "authentic." It seems very run down and dirty at first, but the people are really wonderful and the food was overall very good. The landscape was also very different, mountains and jungle, along with the beach. We went shopping a few days, horseback riding on the beach, para sailing, deep sea fishing, whale watching, it was all so much fun. Stephen even ate some of his catch of Mahi Mahi, and he NEVER eats anything form the sea! I really had a blast and would love to back sometime. But, we are glad to be back in time for Christmas, it was very hard to get in to the spirit there. However, the locals tried very hard to make it seem like Christmas, they all decorate their cars like Rudolph! We have so many pics I don't know if I can fit them all on Picasa, but I will try, they are really cool!

Laughing

I wanted to share this short video of Savannah laughing. It always makes me happy to see a baby laugh so I thought I would share the joy!

Savannah's new friend

There is a new addition to the extended family...

Little Bull!

He does not have a name yet, but little bull is the newest addition to the family! My parents have a new Scottish Highlands Bull. This type of cow is supposed to be friendly if you expose them to people and brush him etc.. He is about Savannah's age and is so cute! Savannah just loved him when she first saw him, she squealed with delight. Savannah also tried her latest adventure sport, bull riding! This just confirms for me that she loves animals so much!! When we walked up to him yesterday, he let out a loud moo and she just looked at him not the least bit afraid! Sorry no pictures, I just have a short video
(Grandma could not work the camera! Ha Ha!)

We Wish You A Merry Christmas...

Savannah Waving

More waving...

Stocking Hung with Care!!!! Ha, Ha!

Mommy made this Longhorn Tree for Daddy!

Our Christmas Tree

Well it is that time of year, Christmas Time! The joy and agony of the Holidays are upon us again. Don't get me wrong I love Christmas time and all that goes with it, however, the elevated stress level is not my favorite part. I know everything will get done, it is just a matter of if it will be done up to my standards. We are already nixing the outdoor lights, which I am totally bummed about, however I understand. There is just not enough time and good weather to accomplish this task, which stinks because that is one of my favorite things about Christmas. I guess I will just have to drive around and look at everyone else's lights! We already have our tree up and decorated and the presents wrapped. No, I am not trying to be an over achiever, we are leaving and I don't have much time left.  Over all I am really looking forward to Christmas this year, and watching the joy in Savannah's eyes when she plays with ... all of the boxes and wrapping paper, you know that will be her favorite part! Oh, by the way Savannah is becoming an expert at waving. She will wave for Daddy any time, and for Mommy if she feels like it. I will have to get a video of her and Stephen waving, it is so cute!
